Judging a work by evidence rather than impression is a hundred years older in this family than I am.

The critic Alfred Bem called it “the method of small observations”: not a general impression of a book, but a particular observation that can be shown and checked. Spektr does the same by machine, and for the same reason: an impression cannot be handed to another person, evidence can.
